ASSIGNMENT: BRAND AND VISUAL SYSTEM

Begin to generate a brand and visual system for your thesis by doing the following:

  • List 20 possible keywords based on what you have learned about developing your topic in the Visual Communications Lab.

  • When choosing keywords, consider the audience, goal, and deliverables you have scoped out for the thesis project.

  • From these 20 words, identify the best three to six keywords; these should be the ones with the most visual possibilities for driving ideas.

  • Establish Pinterest boards for each of the possible keywords and collect at least five pulls for each board.

UX DESIGN / PRODUCT SPEC

Based on your materials matrix, write a short paragraph or two to describe whom the digital product is for (the users), what it does (its purpose) and any other relevant ideas for the functionality.

REFLECTION: I wish to design a digital app for a phone /tablet that is part of the ON THE MOVE! Adventure pack. The app will consist of three different parts. The first part will be in the form of an adventure game, where different levels are achieved by completing tasks that will help the child adjust to their new surroundings.The second part will consist of a photo hunt, where the child can take a photograph of a location in their town (IE: Post Office) then upload it on the app to receive a certain amount of points and advance in the game. All photos uploaded will be in a library archive format.The third and final part of the app will offer the child the opportunity to find new friends, a feature that will allow the child to see other users who have also just recently moved to their area and interact with them.Children can receive advancements and rewards by making new friends and eventually will be able to add that new friend to the game and then join in their adventure.
