Thesis 2 Module 4
Steps for this Module
In this module, you will consider if you need any illustrative/graphic elements in your system, and how to go about sourcing and producing them. You will make a draft of your visual system guidelines and revise them until Module 7. Instructions for making the visual system guidelines are outlined in the Briefing page(s) of this module.
REFLECTION: So as of the present, I am still working on updating my process book (the web version)--this is one of the things I hope to finish over the weekend, and will then have the web link as part of my completed assignments each week moving forward. As far as my visual system is concerned, I changed several things.
1. I played around with several different fonts (sans and serif) and chose Futura since I was researching that it is one of the easier typefaces for children in my age group to read.
2. I opened up the leading of my lines for my writing sections so that there was more room to scribe.
3. I increased my font size and column width for all of sections 1.
4. For section two, I lowered the opacity and used blending modes to make the type in the text boxes lighter so the children could simply write over it.
5. I changed text color
6. I either blended or deleted the majority of decorative elements that adorned my pages.
My concerns moving forward: I still feel that section 1 is not as cohesive as section 2 and I am trying to figure out how to change section 1 so I would not have to re-do all of my images because my first thought was to put the images on a green background.
