Thesis 2 Module 1

ASSIGNMENT: VISUAL SYSTEM

Part 1

Upload all the work that you have done on your thesis deliverables and visual system in Thesis 1 (and afterward, if any).

Part 2

Pick a deliverable (1, 2, or 4) to complete in the first half of the class and do as many sketches/pulls/rough computer drafts as possible. The name of the game is LOTS of exploration, so play around with your system. Push it, explore it, refine it, and see where/if it breaks and then refine and develop it according to what the prototype demands.

To help you determine the thesis deliverable to prototype, and the best research method for your project and audience, look through your textbook: Universal Methods of Design.

Identify three possible research methods, and briefly outline why you think each technique may work. Give feedback and suggestions to your classmates on their plans. Turn your Discussion post(s) into a process blog entry and post a live link to this entry by the end of this module.

MY THREE RESEARCH METHODS:

RESEARCH METHOD 1: A/B Testing-This type of testing could allow me to compare

two versions of my app to see which tends to be the most user-friendly. Also, this would help me see which version is the most appealing based on the responses and usage of the app from both groups.

RESEARCH METHOD 2: Card Sorting method could help me evaluate categories and help itemize the importance of hierarchy to better traffic my user flow.

RESEARCH METHOD 3:Collage- This method of research could be more relatable to my 5-7 age group. A collage kit could be seen as a fun activity for a child as well as provide a sense of familiarity because they probably have already been exposed to a similar practice in school or at home.

REFLECTION: This week, I had to upload the work I completed from my Thesis 1 class last semester as well as my new pulls and visuals for my Thesis 2 class which I am enrolled in currently. I chose to continue adding to my book which I started in Thesis 1 by adding an additional chapter, "INTERVIEW A FRIEND". Also, I made the decision to work on a "FIND MY FRIEND" component for my user experience.
